Kirstie's Witnesses

Regular price £8.99

In the hungry 1840s, the town of Lerwick is struggling with massive social problems, and Kirstie Jamieson, widow, is trying to feed three children. Like the town she lives in, she has a fighting spirit, but will that be enough?

Christina Inkster Jamieson, a.k.a. Kirstie Caddel, was a real person. This is her story. It is also the story of her enterprising, problem-ridden, unpredictable town and the men who found themselves trying to shape its future.
