It Might Just Happen to Work

Regular price £8.00

Pioneering tales from a bygone Yell.

Life in Yell, as elsewhere, changed dramatically in the middle of the last century. New-fangled contraptions such as motor bikes and cars began to appear, along with wireless and other trappings of the modern world.

Billy Williamson tells some tales of how his family, and particularly his father -"something of a mechanical prodigy" - became interested in these and also became one of Shetland's earliest motorists.

Many improvisations came under the category of "It might just happen to work", which inspired this little book.
