Joyce Gammack obtained degrees from Aberdeen University - B.Sc. Zoology (Honours) and M.Sc. in Ecology – and has written publications for Shetland Islands Tourism and Scottish Natural Heritage.
Leaving Shetland in early childhood, she lived in Orkney, Caithness, the Outer Hebrides and Aberdeen, regularly visiting Shetland, before returning in 1980.She presently lives on the island of Bressay with her husband and young daughter.
