Fishing, Fishermen, Fish Merchants and Curers in Shetland

Regular price £5.99

Shetland has been dependent on fishing for many centuries. In this book, the author has collated articles, facts, figures and photographs to provide the reader with a background and knowledge of the industry. The author first came to Shetland in 1955 to dig at St. Ninians Isle, and with one exception, has visited every year since. He has devoted several decades to research into fishing, and followed up records of Shetland fishing. Although no doubt much has been lost in both paper record and memory, much has survived here, more than many other places.
