Folklore from Whalsay and Shetland

In 1950 the Shetland scholar John Stewart met James Hamilton Delargy, the great Irish folklorist. Delargy persuaded Stewart to write down his vast knowledge of Shetland lore, and he took up the task with alacrity. During the rest of his life Stewart jotted down notes on the subject.
